Born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas with two amazing parents and sisters, Tanya Rubin remembers growing up with the yearning of independence and of owning and operating her own business. She began earning her own way at the age of fourteen and worked all through high school and college in restaurants, hotels, and the foodservice industry. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and graduated with a degree in Hotel Administration. That led to working at Courtyard by Marriott in various management positions for three years. She learned that caring for her customers and employees were equally important. Similarly, like layers in a cake, she built upon this to open her own business in 1992.
